Ministers, CEOs, artists to address the convention

The Golden Jubilee National Management Convention (NMC) has begun in New Delhi. The convention is organized by All India Management Association (AIMA) and is being attended by eminent business leaders, policy makers, startup founders, experts, academics and movie stars.

The convention will run over two days and will include sessions on a wide range of issues that are high on India's economic, social and cultural agenda. The overarching theme of the convention is 'Vibrant India: Reimagining the Indian Dream'.

Mr Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways sent a message of congratulation to AIMA on the occasion. "AIMA's role in sustaining this prestigious platform for exchange of ideas on managing the country's transformation is commendable," he said.

Talking about the work of his ministry, Mr Gadkari said that by spreading of expressways network and creating multimodal integration we are striving to reduce logistics cost which will further boost the economy.

Inaugurating the golden jubilee NMC, AIMA President, Mr Shrinivas Dempo said, "The National Management Convention has been the most important gathering of India's management leaders for 50 years and it remains the premier forum for considering the emerging economic and management issues facing the country."

Referring to the overall focus of the convention, Mr Dempo said that India is at the cusp of becoming a powerful and prosperous country and it is a time to reset the acceptance and expectation levels of Indians. "It is a time to reimagine the Indian dream and work towards making India a rich, powerful and influential country," he said.

Mr Nikhil Sawhney, Senior Vice President, AIMA said that it is a moment for India to dream big, think big, and act big. He pointed to the fact that India is now the world's most populous country with the largest consumer and worker base and that India is heading towards becoming the world's third-largest economy soon. He counted on India's digital economy to grow rapidly and make a big contribution to the acceleration of the total GDP growth. "This is India's century and it a time to make India one of the best countries and Indians among the finest people in the world," he said.

AIMA presented its fellowship to Dr Rajendra Srivastava, Former Dean, Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad during the opening session. AIMA also presented the AIMA - RK Swamy High Performance Brand Award 2022 to Mahindra & Mahindra.

On the first evening of the Golden Jubilee National Management Convention, AIMA would present Managing India Awards to Mr RC Bhargava, Chairman, Maruti Suzuki Ltd; Mr Aroon Purie, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, India Today Group; and Ms Rohini Nilekani, Chairperson, Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. Mr Amitabh Kant, India's G20 Sherpa will hand over the trophies to the award winners and talk about India's G20 legacy.

On the second day of the convention, Mr Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will address the convention. The distinguished speakers' line-up on the day will include ISRO Chairman, Mr Somanath; celebrated film maker and director, Mr Imtiaz Ali, and former Olympian, Aparna Popat.

AIMA will felicitate ISRO for its pioneering Chandrayaan-3 mission on day 2 of the convention.

The convention is being live streamed on AIMA's social media channels.
