AIMA’s 1st Vice Chancellors Residential Retreat

In alignment with the mission of the All India Management Association (AIMA) to facilitate individuals and organizations in realizing their potential, AIMA organized a three-day retreat titled ‘Transcending to a New Tomorrow: Leadership Challenges and The Way Forward.’ The retreat, held from June 20 to June 22, 2024, was designed specifically for Vice Chancellors and academic and administrative heads of higher education institutions and universities. The venue for this significant event was Hotel Taj Ganges in the historic city of Varanasi, a city renowned for its rich heritage of knowledge, philosophy, culture, and devotion.

Retreat Overview

The AIMA Vice Chancellors Retreat provided an exceptional platform for some of the brightest minds in academia to converge, share experiences, and engage in insightful discussions. The objective was to address the current challenges and opportunities in higher education, while simultaneously enhancing leadership skills. The retreat facilitated meaningful dialogue, the exchange of best practices, and peer learning experiences in a stimulating and enriching environment.

Cultural and Spiritual Immersion

The retreat began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by an ice-breaking activity. Participants introduced themselves and shared their personal connections to the city of Kashi. A highlight of the first day was the participants' boat ride and attendance at the Ganga Aarti, a spiritual ceremony on the banks of the Ganges River. This experience not only provided a visual spectacle but also offered deep spiritual engagement, underscoring the city’s ancient spiritual heritage.

International Yoga Day Celebration

On the second day of the retreat, which coincided with the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21st, Dr. Anita Chaudhary, an Art of Living teacher, conducted a yoga and meditation session. The theme of this year, ‘Yoga for Self and Society’ was celebrated in spirit. The participants appreciated the session, which added a holistic wellness dimension to the retreat.
