Investing in Women: Driving India’s GDP Growth

AIMA organised its ‘13th Pragati- Celebrating Achievements of Women’ on 3rd April 2025. This year’s theme was ‘Investing in Women: Driving India’s GDP Growth’. The programme aimed to empower women professionals with insights from diverse speakers to overcome career challenges successfully. Ms Sushma Rawat, Director-Exploration, ONGC Ltd, was the programme chairman and she emphasised the role women play in India’s growth and the need to pursue it with “dignity during the inaugural session. The Chief Guest on the occasion, Ms Sundari Nanda, Former IPS Officer & Special Secretary (Internal Security), Ministry of Home Affairs, GoI spoke about how women should be “mediators at work, balancing professionalism with empathy and sensitivity” in her keynote address. The Guest of Honour, Ms Rina Dhaka, renowned fashion designer, highlighted how “personal style sets every woman apart. Ms Rekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA also addressed the audience.
Some of the other eminent speakers addressing the event included Ms Shivangi Thakur, Senior Anchor/Assistant Editor, Zee News; Ms Divya Gupta, Partner & Assistant Director, Boston Consulting Group; Ms Shipra Bhalla Chowdhary Senior Director- Govt. Affairs, SAP India Pvt Ltd; Ms Sucheta Mahapatra, Founder & MD, Branch International; Ms Edyta Kurek, Senior VP & India Head, Oriflame India Ltd; Ms Anupriya Agarwal, Founder, Maxworth Impact among others. Dr Shikha Nehru Sharma, Founder, Nutriwel Health India Ltd. lead a special session on ‘The Science of Peak Performance: Nutrition, Mindset & Leadership’ that examined how nutrition, mental conditioning and leadership enable individuals to reach their full potential. The event also featured a Women’s Quiz Competition, where Grid Controller of India Limited was declared the Champion, followed by Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) as the 1st Runners-up and 2nd Runners-up respectively. Over 130 delegates participated, primarily women professionals, who actively engaged in the sessions, discussions and the quiz competition.

A Head for Heights: Aspire, Learn, Lead

AIMA organised the 12th edition of Pragati - Celebrating Achievements of Women on the theme ‘A Head for Heights: Aspire, Learn, Lead,’ on 2nd April 2024. The programme aimed to empower young women professionals tackle career challenges through curated sessions led by diverse speakers and leaders. Mr Jayant Davar, Founder, Co-Chairman & Managing Director, Sandhar Technologies Ltd was the chief guest and Ms Archana Garodia Gupta, Owner, Touchstone Gems and Jewellery was the guest of honour of the programme. Ms Rekha Sethi, Director General, AIMA delivered the welcome address. On the occasion, Ms Veena Swarup, Former Director HR, EIL was felicitated for her valuable contribution to championing and propelling the Pragati programme over the years.

AIMA’s national level Women Quiz was conducted by the quiz master Mr Ajay Poonia. Grid Controller of India Limited was declared the Champion, followed by Reserve Bank of India and Steel Authority of India Ltd as the 1st Runners-up and 2nd Runners-up respectively
