Programme Overview
Procurement has undergone a profound transformation in recent years. Once viewed primarily as a transactional and administrative function, it has now emerged as a strategic lever for driving organizational efficiency, public accountability, and sustainable value creation. This evolution reflects a growing recognition that procurement is not merely about purchasing goods and services—it is about shaping outcomes that impact governance, economic development, and social equity.
The global call for the professionalization of procurement has gained momentum, underscoring its critical role in achieving transparency, integrity, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Professionalization entails more than just skill development; it requires the establishment of robust institutional frameworks, the cultivation of ethical standards, the integration of cutting-edge digital technologies, and the promotion of cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange.
As governments and organizations worldwide grapple with increasing demands for efficiency, inclusiveness, and environmental responsibility, procurement must evolve into a discipline led by highly trained professionals and guided by international best practices. This transformation is essential to ensure that procurement systems are resilient, responsive, and aligned with broader developmental priorities.
In this context and building on the decade-long legacy of successful Global Procurement Summits, the All India Management Association (AIMA), in collaboration with the World Bank and the Government of India, proudly announces the Global Procurement Summit (GPS) 2026. This premier event will convene a diverse and distinguished group of global experts, policymakers, academicians, practitioners, and industry leaders to explore innovative strategies and actionable pathways for advancing the professionalization of procurement systems.
GPS 2026 will serve as a dynamic platform for dialogue, learning, and partnership—fostering a shared vision for procurement that is ethical, efficient, and future-ready.
The summit is expected to attract 300+ delegates including senior officials from Government of India, public sector undertakings, private enterprises, development agencies, and international experts from USA, EU, UK, South Asia, and Africa.
