AIMA’s 3rd Global Innovation and Management Programme (GIMP) 2025 was held from 20th to 24th August 2025 in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan for the first time. The immersive 4-day programme brought together distinguished faculty, senior industry leaders and policy experts to provide Indian business leaders with insights into Japan’s innovation ecosystem, advanced manufacturing, robotics, clean technologies and the evolving contours of India– Japan business partnerships. The programme brought together participants from India’s leading organisations, including GAIL, NTPC, SAIL, Tata Steel, TCIL, MEPSC, Sapcon Instruments Pvt Ltd, Plant Engineering People Pvt Ltd and Truform Techno Products Pvt Ltd.
The programme was led by Mr Pranjal Sharma, Economic Analyst, Advisor and Author as the Programme Director and featured distinguished Japanese business leaders and experts such as Yoshiaki Fujimori San (Digital Bridge & CVC Capital Partners Asia Pacific), Dr Nobuhiko Kubota (IHI Corporation), Norihiro Suzaki San (Hitachi Ltd), Yusuke Uchiyama San (Yaskawa Electric Corporation), Yuichiro Sano San (Beyond Next Ventures) and Miles Kato San (KPMG FAS Co Ltd), amongst many others. During the programme, delegates engaged with leading corporations and institutions, gaining insights into Japan’s innovation ecosystem, R&D initiatives, robotics and automation, clean energy solutions, and creative industries. Key visits included NTT Musashino R&D Center, Geek Pictures Corporation, Ugo Inc, along with interactive session with Deputy Chief of Mission Mr R Madhu Sudan at the Embassy of India in Tokyo.
The delegation also enjoyed a ride on the Japanese Bullet Train, Shinkansen, while heading to the World Expo 2025 in Osaka. The visit provided a global perspective on emerging opportunities for collaboration and growth.
