AIMA is organizing a virtual session on the theme - India's Pathways to Success on 3rd April 2023, Monday from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm with Dr Ganesh Natarajan, Chairman - 5F World & Honeywell Automation India, Dr Ejaz Ghani, Former Chief Economist, World Bank and Dr Harsha Vardhana Singh, Former Deputy Director General, World Trade Organization. The session would focus on the book titled - India's Pathways to Success by Dr Ganesh Natarajan and Dr Ejaz Ghan. The session would look at answers to important questions like - Will India be able to achieve the target of a $5 trillion GDP in the foreseeable future, What role will agriculture, manufacturing, mobility and digital India play in accelerating the process, Will India become a major player in global trade and will there be enablers like planned urbanisation or deterrents like social disharmony and trust deficits that would have to be addressed en route to success, give a roadmap for India’s growth. Future is always uncertain, the session shall also reflect on the past and present trends to project the future.

About the Speakers

Dr. Ganesh Natarajan is Executive Chairman and Founder of 5F World, a platform for Digital Start-ups, Skills and Social Ventures in the country. He is also Chairman of Honeywell Automation India and Lighthouse Communities Foundation and a Central Board member of the State Bank of India and Hinduja Global Solutions. Ganesh is an alumnus of BIT Mesra, NITIE, IIT Bombay and Harvard Business School. He has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award of IIT Bombay and NITIE and has been recognized by EY and the Asia Pacific HR Forum for excellence in technology entrepreneurship and people-centric leadership. Harvard Business School has written two case studies on Dr. Ganesh Natarajan and his success through Vision Communities and Innovation. Ganesh is the author /co-author of twelve previous books on Technology, Innovation and Leadership. The recent Rupa book on “Rising to the China challenge” has received acclaim in business and policy circles in India and abroad.

Dr. Ejaz Ghani is Former Chief Economist, World Bank, currently senior fellow at the Pune International Centre. Previously lead economist at the World Bank, he worked on Africa, East Asia, South Asia, Corporate Strategy, and Independent Evaluation Unit. He contributes economic opinion columns to a number of prominent publications and has edited several books, including Reshaping Tomorrow: Is South Asia Ready for the Big Leap? (2011) and the Poor half billion in South Asia(2010). Prior to joining The World Bank, he taught economics at St.Anne’s College (Oxford University) and Shri Ram College of Commerce (Delhi University). He is an Inlaks scholar.

Dr Harsha Vardhana Singh : Dr Harsha Vardhana Singh has worked for over three decades on international trade policy, development, infrastructure regulation and global governance. He is also a Senior Fellow of the Council on Emerging Market Enterprises (Fletcher School). Dr Singh was Deputy Director-General at World Trade Organization for eight years till 30th September 2013. In India, was economic advisor and then secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. He is a Ph. D. in Economics from Oxford University, where he went as a Rhodes Scholar from India.
