'Reach Where You Aspire To: Leadership Training for Women', 21-22-23 February, 2018 Jodhpur

Women Leadership Training at Jodhpur

After the very successful first edition in December 2017, AIMA organised second leadership training for Women Professionals on 21-22-23 February, 2018 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

The participating group was a mix of practitioners from Research, Customer Service, HR, Finance, Legal , Corporate Communication and Teaching from public sector, private sector organisations and from academia. The presence from 7 cities were marked in the training. It was an opportunity for participants to network and establish contacts with each other in the heterogeneous group.

Away from the actual work environment, a break from the normal professional routine, the training programme helped participants explore their distinct identity and develop leadership skills.The training started with ice breaking, introduction, expectation capturing and setting the context of the training with gala dinner. Next two days were action packed with case discussions, role plays, discussion on industry practices. Experience sharing by participants added in the learning of the entire group.

To promote leadership in women professionals , to address the theme of the training ‘Reach Where You Aspire To’, to help create a gender neutral work culture the training covered topics like during the training included Essentials of Leadership, Leader’s DNA, Building High Performance Teams, How Leaders Brand, Influencing Others, Transformational Leadership & Change Models, Communicating for Results, How to Un-trap Hidden Traps in Decision Making and Smart Decisions For Advancement. The training inputs were complemented with psychometric tools and storytelling methodology by the trainer. Experts were invited to talk to the women participants about stress management techniques, basic Yoga asanas and importance of pranayama.

The training was very well accepted by the participants.

The objective of the training is to bring out common concerns of professional women and draft a futuristic action plan to face challenges and take leadership roles. Let us be part of the training initiative by AIMA, and contribute towards building skilled and professional workforce, beyond the gender limitations.

Away from the actual work environment, a break from the normal professional routine, explore your distinct identity while you learn at Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan, popularly known as the Blue City.

It is important for women professionals to think beyond their limitations. Requisite and timely skill training can help them realise their potential and grow beyond the limitations of self and society. Getting to the higher echelons of the organization is all the more tough for women professionals because of the mental blocks and special circumstances they face. To promote leadership in women professionals and help create a gender neutral work culture we take many initiatives at AIMA. To help develop leadership skills in women professionals, AIMA organised a specialised residential training - ‘Reach Where You Aspire To: Leadership Training’ on 7-8-9 December 2017.

Away from the actual work environment, a break from the normal professional routine, the training programme helped participants’ explore their distinct identity and develop leadership skills at Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan, popularly known as the Blue City. The venue was a heritage hotel - Ranbanka Palace, Jodhpur.

The training started with ice breaking, introduction, expectation capturing and setting the context of the training with gala dinner. Next two days were action packed with case discussions, role plays, experience sharing sessions and discussion on industry practices. The training inputs were complemented with psychometric tools and storytelling methodology by the trainer.

The training was attended by participants from 6 cities of the country with varied functional and managerial background. Participating organisations included Blue Dart express Ltd Centre for Development of Telematics (CDOT), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited, GAIL Reserve Bank of India and Tata Business Support Services Limited.

It was an opportunity for participants to network and establish contacts with each other in the heterogeneous group.

This training was designed to help women executives sharpen their managerial skills, develop new skills and carve leadership paths for themselves. The training met its objective of bringing common concerns of professional women and draft a futuristic action plan to face challenges and take leadership roles.
