All India Management Association (AIMA), as the national apex body of management profession in the country is committed to enhancing the competence of management profession through its multifaceted activities. AIMA has a broad base of 66 Local Management Associations including two cooperating LMAs abroad, with a membership of over 30,000. AIMA is represented on the Boards of India's premier Business Institutions and also represented on Boards of Government bodies including the AICTE, National Board of Accreditation, National Productivity Council to name a few. In addition, AIMA brings to the Indian managers, the best management practices and techniques through numerous foreign collaborations with professional bodies and institutions.

AIMA organises a women-centric program in the month of March for the last 5 years called Pragati to deliberate on the role of the women of today in the corporate world. It celebrates their achievements, it evaluates their challenges and it presents their side of the story. In a way, it’s a platform that celebrates womenhood.

Women of today are at a unique point in the journey to the top. While on one hand they are celebrated as mentally and emotionally tougher, on the other the same traits are considered the biggest impediments in their professional journey. AIMA puts together a platform which underlines their importance to the prosperity of the family, society and the nation.

Ms. Veena Swarup, ex-Director HR, EIL has been chairing this since its inception. This year it scheduled to be held on 29th March 2017 at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi.

“Unlocking Potential: From Inspiration to Action”

AIMA has organized PRAGATI: Celebrating Achievements of Women on 30th March 2016 at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi. The theme for this year's programme was "Unlocking Potential : From Inspiration to Action" followed by a Women Quiz.
The Chief Guest of the event was Dr Najma A. Heptulla, Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Government of India. Ms Veena Swarup, Director (HR), Engineers India Limited, chaired the conference and the Keynote Address at the valedictory session was given by Capt. Usha Banerjee, Group Director Nursing, Apollo Hospitals Group. The speakers at the programme were Dr Shikha Sharma, Founder Managing Director of Dr Shikha Sharma Nutri-health Systems; Mr Suvojoy Sengupta, Partner, McKinsey & Company; Ms Anika Agarwal, VP and Head – Marketing, Digital and Direct Sales Max Bupa Health Insurance; Ms Ester Martinez, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, People Matters; Ms Poonam Kaul, Vice President – Communication, Pepsico India Holdings Pvt Ltd; Ms Anuja Bansal, Secretary General, SOS Village; Ms Neerja Singh, Group Executive Vice President and Regional Head (North and East), Yes Bank; Ms Sabih Kidwai, Director – HR Schneider Electric Infrastructure Ltd.
The 2nd half of the day witnessed the Women Quiz which was conducted by eminent quiz masters Mr S P S Jaggi and Mr V Kumar. RBI were declared as the Champions, followed by Daimler India Commercial Vehicles as I Runners-up and Tata Steel as II Runners-up. Capt. Usha Banerjee, Group Director Nursing, Apollo Hospitals Group along with Ms Veena Swarup, Director (HR), Engineers India Limited, presented the trophies along with the cash prizes to all the winning teams.
