AIMA organised the Academic Conference on the theme of “Managing in the Age of Disruption: Future of Organisations”, on 6th -7th December 2018, at Hotel Shangri-La, New Delhi.

The conference brought together some top 15 technology leaders and key officials from leading Indian and International companies and about 15 eminent academicians from top B-schools in India to deliberate on the future of organisations, leadership, business models and value change arising out of technological disruptions such as big data, data privacy, business analytics, artificial intelligence, blockchain and many more.

The conference also provided a valuable networking opportunity and set the stage for further cooperation among Industry and B-Schools in India and beyond in the area of research and publication, setting up opportunities for knowledge transfer and exchange.

Delivery the keynote address, TV Mohandas Pai, immediate Past President, AIMA and Chairman, Manipal Global Education said that “ most of the management functions can be outsourced,” he envisioned that the number of full-time management jobs will diminish. He added that companies cannot utilize most of the highly skilled employees full time and they could opt to hire them by the gig. Companies accordingly need to change their organizational structure and management behaviour,” he added.

M Arun M Kumar, Chairman, KPMG India, while delivering the inaugural address emphasised on growing preference among companies to become fluid and adaptive. ‘Clients are looking for solutions to complex problems and nobody has all the answers and that is forcing a shift from silos to network-based organizations,”. He further added that the management best practices and benchmarks have to be customized for each client. He also pointed out that the millennials are having an impact on organizational structure and behaviour because they want more control of their work and time. Furthermore, the business schools have to align with the new reality of technology and business. ‘The forces that are reshaping the world need to be brought into the classroom,” he added

Dr Rajan Saxena, Chairperson AIMA Case Research Centre, Vice Chancellor, NMIMS while setting the context of the conference emphasised on the interplay of technology society and governance that has created new paradigms making it imperative for organizations and societies to graduate to knowledge era where ideas and innovations are no more the monopolies of a few.

The conference also had 15 research paper presented by academicians and research scholars in the concurrent session of the conference.

The Academic Research Conference held annually is a high profile event of AIMA. Over 250 professionals from business schools, corporates and R& D centres across the country participated in the conference.

AIMA 10th National Research Conference

All India Management Association (AIMA) organized its 10th National Research Conference on the theme "Integrating Technology in Management Education" on 28th & 29th March 2016, in New Delhi.

The conference came at the apt time when technology is all set to transform the way we learn. With more than 6.7 million students across the world currently enrolled in technology-based classes and the emerging blended learning matrix, combining face to face physical and online learning system. The 21st Century Campus needs to meet the need of learning, by incorporating new learning tools.

The National Research Conference (NRC) is an annual and high profile event of AIMA. More than 250 professional from B-Schools, Universities, Corporates and Regulators across India attended it.

Dr. Rajan Saxena, Vice Chancellor & Distinguished Professor of Marketing, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) set the context of the conference by emphasizing that the distance has collapsed and we are communicating 24x7 and we have brought the world in classrooms, today we need to bring the challenges of working simultaneously on the same project in different geographies in our classrooms.

Dr. Avinash S Pant, Vice Chairman, AICTE in his inaugural address updated the audience on the changes in AICTE policies which are to incorporate the opportunities emerging due to the integration of technology. He congratulated AIMA for choosing the apt theme at the apt time when Indian education is witnessing a major shift.

Dr. Diptiman Das, Chairman and Managing Director, Education consultants of India (EDCIL) shared the upcoming opportunities to scale up the quality education using technology.
