ACADEMIC CONFERENCE
ON
MANAGING IN THE AGE OF DISRUPTION: FUTURE OF ORGANISATIONS

6th & 7th December 2018
New Delhi

About the Conference

For decades, science fiction movies have been depicting human talking to the machine, computer reading human mind, wearables, digital wall, transparent glass screen capable of projecting holographic images from the computer, electromagnetic hover cars. The hyperdrives or the directed energy weapon that could destroy anything with its highly focused energy, to protocol droids, which could translate into any language in real time, gesture and eye movement controlling the devices. According to researchers, all these things, which we aspire for from the movies, will be part of our daily life in near future.

Internet of things (IoT), digital technologies, big data, rapid communication, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, augmented reality, virtual reality, bolts, 3D printing and disruptive business models are just some of the drivers reshaping the fourth industrial revolution. The increased use of robotics and cognitive technologies are making news headlines. These highly disruptive trends will affect not only individuals but also impact business leaders/organisations and the overall society.

Emerging business models and innovation from companies such as Uber, Bitcoin, Netflix, Tesla and Airbnb are forcing organisations to respond and reposition themselves quickly to meet the new challenges. We are also witnessing the rise of technology companies like, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook, Samsung, Tencent, which are revolutionising the way work and businesses can be done. Digital technologies are predicted to drive the realisation of tomorrow’s “intelligent cities. These disruptions will also require a new set of orientation from business leaders.

The future is happening around us, and we must rise to the challenge to meet it and thrive in the new industrial revolution. Business leaders need to respond and reposition themselves quickly. To succeed, the business leaders need an accurate directional read of the future, providing flexibility and optionality as the future unfolds.

But the critical questions raised are; What will be the key technologies, which will dominate the future of organisations? Would Machines replace humans? What will the future market design look like? What will constitute work? What skills will be needed to be productive contributors in the future? The power of real-time, digital data to predict paths for development is immense, but would this help in solving real-world issues like poverty, crime, health, social security and inclusiveness, employment opportunities, and education? At the same time, it may happen that many of organisations might not be able to adapt the new technologies which are first and foremost tools made by the people for the people.”

To further acknowledge, discuss, debate the significant technological innovations which will have a far-reaching impact on business, society, economies and business leaders, we are organising the academic conference on the theme “MANAGING IN THE AGE OF DISRUPTION: FUTURE OF ORGANISATIONS”.

  • To identify the key drivers which will disrupt the leadership.

  • To identify the key technological trends reshaping business, society, and work.
