All India Management Association (AIMA) is organizing the 7th edition of The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit on 13th December 2017 at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi. The Theme for this edition is “Technology-based Innovation: Business Drivers of the Future”
Technology is a great leveler. Today startups have redefined the Innovation space and created products, services, delivery mechanisms and business models which have catapulted them instantly into the big league. The big organisations have taken up the challenge and reorganized themselves to be more agile and proactive to the imminent threat to their ecosystem. Many have set up in-house incubators and created an internal ecosystem to let their human resources innovate and excel. The resultant effect has been a high level of Innovations which have not only helped the society at large but in the process increased efficiencies and boosted profits.
The Innovation Practitioners Summit will be an opportunity to showcase Hi- impact innovations and its Practitioners. It will be a formal recognition forum to publicize and recognize those who have had the courage to take the more challenging path devising innovative solutions. The winners would be those who have taken an idea from concept to reality and have results that leap-frogged from Incremental to Quantum to show for their efforts.
We invite you to be part of this unique initiative by participating in the Innovation Practitioners case study contest. Organisations/Institutions can nominate more than one case study in one category and can also nominate across categories.

Case Study and Award Categories

The Summit will showcase India’s leading innovation practitioners in the following categories. Winner/Winners in each Category shall be given the opportunity to present their Case Study at the Summit and shall also be awarded for the same.
  • Innovation in Manufacturing & Services
    The award recognises the breakthrough achieved by an organisation in enhancing its productivity and efficiency via the introduction of a new or improved manufacturing or service delivery process. The process must have an element of innovation and displayed a tangible positive impact on the business model of the organisation over a period of time. Additionally, it should act as a new benchmark for peers across the industry.

  • Innovation in Research and Development (R&D) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
    Firms/Institutions under this award category must have employed inventive research and development practices towards developing new products and services, which are capable of changing the landscape of the industry. The enterprises should have made significant investment in R&D activities – with an emphasis on emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and integrating them into existing processes. The firms/institutions must mention about the patents registered by them, which have contributed to the development of concrete business solutions.


  • Innovation in Digital
    This category of award recognizes digital transformation initiatives which have had a significant and measurable business impact. Firms/Institutions in this category should have used technology to drive business innovation, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), virtual reality/augmented reality, cloud, data analytics, and mobile/smart devices. The initiatives would be evaluated on parameters including - complexity, scale, business outcomes and innovation.


  • Innovation in Learning and Development (L&D)
    The award is in recognition of an organisation/Institution that has developed and implemented a leading-edge program with measurable impact on employees and the organization and used innovative learning practices to inculcate a dynamic work culture throughout the enterprise. It should have explored the use of digital / technology platforms as a means of imparting L&D within the organisation.


  • Innovation in Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
    The Innovation in Sustainability & CSR award recognises enterprises/Institutions which have managed to incorporate sustainable business practices as a part of their DNA and adopted a different approach to CSR practices, in a manner by impacting stakeholders and communities via its business model

1. Eligibility

The case study contest is open for any firm/company/organization/ Institution in India that has devised innovations in the below given areas in last three years:

  • Innovation in Research and Development (R&D) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Innovation in Learning and Development (L&D)
  • Innovation in Manufacturing & Services
  • Innovation in Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  • Innovation in Digital

Organisations/Institutions can nominate more than one case study in one category and can also nominate across categories.

How to Participate?

Step 1: Submission of Consent Form: Interested firm/company/organization/ Institution to email the duly filled consent form to AIMA at enayyar@aima.in.

Step 2: Submission of Case Study, PPT and Participation Fee: The case study (in soft and hard copy both) alongwith the participation fee to be sent to AIMA before 27th November 2017.

Step 3: Confirm Participation for the Jury Presentation: The shortlisted firm/company/organization/ Institution shall be informed via email about their Case Study Presentation date and time slots. Participants must confirm their participation via email alongwith the complete details of presenters.

Step 4: Award Ceremony and Presentations: The winners shall be informed about the Program Schedule and shall be invited for the Award Ceremony and Presentations on 13th December 2017 at Hotel Le-Meridien.

3.Evaluation Parameters:

Initial shortlisting of the entries will be based on the word document( Case Study) submitted by the organization. Following will be the Evaluation Criteria for all Categories

  • Uniqueness
    • Unique within the Company
    • Unique with respect to the Industry in India
    • Unique with respect to the Industry in the world
  • Impact
    • People/ Society- Impact on the untended customer, number of people impacted and degree of impact; other impact on people/ society
    • Economic Impact- top line/ bottom line of the organization (before and after)
    • Environmental Impact- Assessment on carbon footprints (This is a desirable criteria and not essential)
  • Scale and Sustainability
    • Innovation has outlived, founding team, special resources and does not need special resources any more. Is self-sustainable
    • Innovation has demonstrated scalability and/ or reached scale

4.Submission Format:

  • The response to the case study should be submitted in the template (word format) and should not exceed 3000 words. Details of format to be used: font type - Arial, Font Size – 10.
  • A power point presentation should also be sent with the executive summary of the case study to be presented in the Video/audio conference on Saturday, 9th December 2017. The presentation should be limited to not more than 10 slides only excluding appendix slides (appendix slides should not exceed 5 slides)
  • Both the should be named in the given format
  • “AIMA Case Study Competition_OrganizationName_word” &
  • “AIMA Case Study Competition_OrganizationName_PPT.pdf” and sent along in the same email to Ms Ekta Nayyar at enayyar@aima.in
  • Subject line of the email: AIMA Case Study Competition on Best Innovative Practices
  • The verdict of the jury will be final. In the event of a tie, the Expert Committee and Jury will cast a vote.

As part of its endeavor for building innovation competitiveness, All India Management Association (AIMA) in association with Erehwon Innovation Consulting is organizing ‘The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit’ with the theme “Innovation Led Transformation” on 19 March 2015 at Sheraton Hotel Saket, New Delhi.

The 6th edition of the summit will be a platform to determine & immortalize Hi-Impact Innovations & Innovation Practitioners, fuelling the creation of ‘New Legends’. The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit is a formal recognition forum, to publicize and recognize those who have had the courage to take the more challenging path of Innovation. The winners would be those who have taken an idea from concept to reality and have results that leap-frogged from Incremental to Quantum to show for their efforts.

The Summit is totally based on a Case Study Contest on breakthrough Innovations. We invite your organisation to be part of this unique initiative of AIMA by participating in the case study contest. The case study should focus on Breakthrough Innovation in any of the above areas achieved by companies/institutions within the last 3-4 years.
  • The Top 2 Entries in each category will be recognized by the Industry Thought Leaders in a special gathering and will be invited to make presentations at the Summit on 19 March 2015
  • The Top 2 Entries in each category will be published in The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit Documentation to be distributed to all Delegates attending the program
  • The winning stories will be featured in the next Erehwon Book to be published in 2015-16, titled ‘ORBIT SHIFTING INDIA’
A copy of Consent Form along with the Guidelines and the Case Study Template is attached for your reference. The Contest entails a nominal fee as per the attached consent form. This payment should reach us along with the filled Consent Form latest by 28th February 2015.

As part of its endeavor for building innovation competitiveness, All India Management Association organized ‘The Innovation Practitioner’s Summit’ – fifth in the series with the theme “Innovation Led Transformation” on 21 March 2014 at Main Auditorium, India International Centre, New Delhi.

Erehwon Innovation Consulting was the Knowledge Partner for the Summit and Mr Rajiv Narang, Chairman & Managing Director, Erehwon Innovation Consulting steered this initiative as the Summit Director.

The Summit is totally based on a Case Study Contest on breakthrough Innovations in various functional areas. The top 2 Case Studies from each stream were showcased at the Summit.

The response has been encouraging and we received several applications in various categories from corporates for the case study contest. A Jury of eminent experts comprising of Padmashree, Lila Poonawala, Former Managing Director of Alfa Laval, L R Natarajan, CEO New Business Development, Titan industries, Tanmaya Vats, Head, Global Value Innovation at PepsiCo, Vivek Talwar, Chief Culture Officer, Tata Power and Sangeeta Talwar, Former Managing Director NDDB Dairy Services has helped us in selecting the winners. The winners showcased their award winning Case Studies in each category at the summit on 21st March 2014.

Nikhil Sawhney, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Triveni Turbine Ltd delivered the Valedictory address at the summit and also presented the awards to the winners
