About Retreat:

Automation is radically changing the DNA of the organisation and has thrown up a daunting challenge for human resource leaders. There is a belief that while technology replaces some jobs it also creates new jobs. To stay relevant with increasing automation the workforce will need to transition from being rule followers to be problem identifiers and solvers, creating value in collaboration with machines. This will result in increasing autonomy and empowerment for people, and hence the need for newer and deeper skills.

This leadership retreat will provide a direction to the HR leaders playing a strategic role in the age of Automation.

Methodology:

The retreat is designed to learn from the experiences of successful leaders and organizations on how HR will need to drive change by engaging strategically in workforce planning and employee engagement and develop leaders both for business and HR in this new digital paradigm shift. This leadership retreat will provide a direction to the HR leaders to deeply involve in preparing for the rise in automation not only to tackle the issue of redundancies but also on reskilling and capacity-building, much as it does today, only at a faster pace.

5th HR Leadership Retreat
"HR in the Digital World"
17th – 19th June, 2016, Vivanta by Taj, Fort Aguada, Goa

AIMA organized its 5th HR Leadership Retreat in Goa from 17th to 19th June, 2016 at Goa with the theme "HR in the Digital World". The retreat was led by Mr T V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education.

The retreat was structured on the thought that digital and internet technologies have radically changed the way we work, requiring a tremendous change in all areas of human resources. With technologies evolving every day, human resources professionals are realising that the fast-paced, ever-changing digital world impacts their jobs and workplaces—not only today, but in the future.

Digital technology has put information power in the hands of individuals, and they're not going to give it back. Enterprises can no longer dictate how they'll interact with people. Therefore HR must reorient its processes and systems to put people at the center.

Considering the above imperative, the retreat was designed to learn from the experiences of successful leaders and organisations on how to efficiently meet the needs of a changing, complex market and develop leaders both for business and HR in this new digital paradigm shift.

The eminent speakers who shared their thoughts were:
  • Richard Rekhy, Chief Executive Officer, KPMG in India
  • Rajesh Magow, Co-Founder & CEO – India, MakeMyTrip India Pvt. Ltd
  • Sandip Sen, Global CEO, Aegis Limited
