About AIMA- India Case Research Centre (ICRC)

India Case Research Centre (ICRC) is developing, publishing and distributing research-based high-quality Indian cases for Indian and International Business School consumption.

These high-quality Indian cases are accessible to B-Schools/universities from the AIMA case research portal - www.caseresearchaima.in. AIMA –ICRC has also entered into a collaboration with IIM-A, IIM-B, ISB and IIM-Trichy for the listing of the cases developed and published from their faculty.

AIMA as the apex body of management in India is active in developing the managerial capability. In furtherance of this objective, AIMA is organising the 5th Capability Building Workshop on effective case writing to develop the potential case writers and coach them in the rigour of academic case writing process.

About AIMA Case Writing Workshop

The two-day case writing workshop will provide the insights, knowledge and skills needed to create highly effective teaching cases. The participants in this workshop will work individually, in small groups of ‘critical friends' and as a class to prepare a draft case with teaching note.

Support And Publication Opportunity From AIMA-ICRC

The cases along with teaching notes submitted by the participants (in the stipulated time frame) will be reviewed by a pool of renowned experts on the editorial board of AIMA-ICRC.

The review team will share their written observations, comments, the scope of improvement, etc. on the draft case. The participants would be given an opportunity to realign and rewrite the contents of the case based on the suggestions received. The editorial board of AIMA case centre will ensure the final review before accepting it for publication and distribution through AIMA case centre.

Note: Two or more participants can work together in developing a case. However, all the case collaborators have to write a joint letter of intent to AIMA.

  • The Published cases under AIMA –ICRC will get a 15% royalty on each case sold through the portal.

 

 

  • Academicians/ professionals with prior case teaching/writing experience.

  • PhD research scholars having an inclination towards case writing.

  • Professionals from the organisation / industry with hands-on experience and access to relevant information.

 

Pre - Workshop Preparation / Courseware

Each participant will receive a customised study material from AIMA. Participant's folder will contain all the information (notes, articles and cases) the tutor/facilitator requires them to have during the workshop.

In addition to this, the participants will receive a pre-workshop reading and assignments one week before the workshop via email.

The workshop has limited seats and participants will be selected primarily on the basis of the following criterion.

  • List of the Published case or any other publication. (share the soft copies /links)

  • A sample case lead written in maximum 200 words.

* Workshop fee includes the cost of course material, workshop tea/coffee, snacks, lunch for two days and other organisational expenses (accommodation will be arranged strictly on payment basis). Travel cost has to be incurred separately by participants. Nomination fees are not refundable; however, participation by a substitute is allowed.

Certification

Each participant will receive a certificate of participation from AIMA.

3rd Capability Building Workshop on Case Writing conducted by India Case Research Centre (ICRC)

All India Management Association’s, India Case Research Centre (ICRC) organised the 2 days Capability building workshop on Case Writing for B school Faculties on 12th and 13th February,2019 in collaboration with Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research at Bangalore.

The Workshop started with a Panel Discussion on India Centric Management Cases. The eminent academician in the panel were Dr M K Sridhar, Member, Knowledge Commission, Government of India,Dr Anil Rao Paila, Senior Dean , WeSchool, Bengaluru Campus,Dr N R Parasuraman, Director, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, Mysuru ,Dr Atish Chattopadhyay, Director, IFIM Business School, Bengaluru,Prof Subhash Sharma, Director, Indian Business Academy, Bengaluru,Dr Raj Agrawal, Director , AIMA-CME and Dr. C Manohar, Director ISBR, Bengaluru.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Sonia Mehrotra, Head & Professor – Centre of Excellence for Case Development, WeSchool and Prof Anuja Pandey Program Director, PGCM & Faculty Coordinator, India Case Research Centre (ICRC), AIMA

The objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with the skill of Case Writing and drafting teaching notes in a structured manner.The cases submitted by the participants after the workshop will be reviewed by the ICRC Review committee and the editors before publishing them in the AIMA’s ICRC’s Case Journal CASEPEDIA.

The workshop was attended by 19 Indian and 1 international participant. The methodology of the workshop included experiential learning approaches, management best cases studies , Individual case development and peer review/ discussions and expert feedback on individual cases.

Next Capability workshop is scheduled to be held in in month of April 2019.

2nd Capability Building Workshop on Case Writing conducted by India Case Research Centre (ICRC)

All India Management Association’s, India Case Research Centre (ICRC) organised 2 days Capability building workshop on Case Writing for B school Faculties and Research scholars on 18- 19 January 2019 at, New Delhi

The objective of the workshop was to equip the participants with the skill of Case Writing and drafting teaching notes in a structured manner so that the cases drafted by them after the workshop can be published in AIMA’s Case Journal, the CASEPEDIA and also be used by the B Schools as a teaching aid.

The workshop was conducted by Dr B Bhattacharya, Former Dean -IIFT & Sr. Advisor to the UN Archive, Ms Meeta Sengupta, eminent case writer and Advisor, Dr Raj Agrawal, Director Centre for Management Education, AIMA, and by Dr Anuja Pandey, Associate Professor, AIMA.
The workshop received an overwhelming response of 30 participants and was attended by the B School Faculties and Research Scholars from across India.
The methodology of the workshop included experiential learning approaches and theories behind developing a good Case Study, introducing industry best examples/cases, group discussions and feedback on individual cases.

The participants have been given the study notes and templates to draft their cases. The cases submitted by the participants will now be reviewed by the ICRC Review committee and the Editors before publishing them in the AIMA’s ICRC’s Case Journal CASEPEDIA.

Third Capability workshop is scheduled to be held in Weschool, Welingkar, Bangalore on 12th and 13th February 2019.
