Sadly there may be no getting rid of the Covid in the foreseeable future. The pandemic has paralyzed the world for months and it has rebounded just when the world has begun to get out of lockdowns. Countries and companies have to find ways to get through the pandemic till its prevention and cure is found. Everybody has to also prepare to rebuild for a new normal in which extreme events are likely to be more frequent than in the past. Unprecedented progress is needed in science and technology and their application in business and life. Capacity to withstand shocks is the highest priority now. Moreover, major upgrades may be needed in the political and social institutions at national and international levels to ensure peace and cooperation. Getting through the pandemic with minimal damage is a challenge, but making a better world for later is an even greater task
