What is National Management Games (NMG)?

NMG is a unique platform for Corporate Managers to experience the thrill of Managing Business in competitive mode. It is one of the most awaited and prestigious annual event on Business Simulation, organized by AIMA. The participants get exposed to the intricacies of running a company with focus on resource management, market trends, production, inventory etc. The winners of NMG represent India in the Asian Management Games (AMG) and the Global Management Challenge (GMC).

Eligibility

  • A team of maximum 3 - 4 members participate in preliminary round on both the days.
  • Functional Heads are appointed by the team to adopt the roles of CEO, COO, CFO and CMO.
  • Each team represents an enterprise.
  • A hypothetical Business Case is presented to each team with economic data and financial reports.
  • Each team works out its strategy in operations, marketing, finance and product development with an aim to reach the preset goal.
  • This is done using AIMA’s sophisticated software ‘Chanakya’, that stimulates an economic environment for all the teams.

The National Management Games (NMG) 'Chanakya', an all India competition for corporates organised annually by All India Management Association (AIMA), was successfully concluded on 27th May, 2016 at New Delhi this year. AIMA celebrated the Silver Jubilee (25th) edition of NMG this year.

The competition was held in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern Regions. 'Chanakya' is a computer based simulated game that sensitises and strengthens business acumen in students where participants are handed over a hypothetical company to run business. A team of 4 participants from an organisation form a company and run it in a virtual environment created by Chanakya. This year about more than 100 teams participated from all over India comprising of both private and PSU companies.

For the first time in the history of NMG, AIMA launched the platform / concept of training round wherein corporates showed keen interest in participation. Vodafone, Videcond2h, Water Health International, Adani Power Ltd etc took benefit of this training:

This year's NMG was sponsored by Mother Dairy, Pepsico, PowerGrid Corporation of India, JSW Energy and Patton The venue hosts were KIIT School of Management, Bhubaneswar; M S Ramaiah Institute of Management, Bangalore; Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai and New Delhi Institute of Management, New Delhi.
