Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are spread all over the country, contributing significantly to India’s Economic Development.
They are playing an important role in sustaining economic growth, increasing trade, generating employment and creating seedbed for enterprise development. However, MSMEs have been facing serious constraints and problems for their growth and development, more so in the context of globalization of the Indian economy. The Government of India has come out with the legislation to intensify its support to small enterprises and broad base their spread to include the medium enterprises and services sector apart from the micro enterprises.
Discussions with MSMEs, bankers, credit rating agencies and other stakeholders have indicated that MSMEs need skills not only to procure and manage their funds but also to effectively leverage latest technologies and reach out to relevant markets both domestic and international.
