National Student Quiz (NSQ)

In a nail biting finish, the team from IISWBM, Kolkata comprising SOUMYA BHATTACHARYYA & ABHISHEK CHAKRABORTY, were crowned CHAMPIONS of the 9th edition of National Student Quiz organized by the All India Management Association, here at Greater Noida. The team from BITS PILANI — TANAY SHANKAR & SAHIL GUPTA,  were adjudged the First Runners Up followed by  the team from IMT GHAZIABAD – LEO THOMAS & KAUSTABA K.V.-- at the Third Place.

The National Student Quiz is a mega event designed to provide Students at Graduate as well as Post Graduate Levels across al streams & subjects a unique platform to hone and test their knowledge to battle with the best in the country. Earlier it was called as National Student Management Quiz as it was open only to Management Students, from this year it has been opened to students across all streams.

This  annual competition provides a unique platform to students to exhibit their knowledge and acumen, thereby win recognition to excellence. It also provides an excellent opportunity for  them to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity and experience. This year the theme of the competition was changed to a very basic, simple and easy one – Entertainment, Sports, Movies, Brands, Current Affairs & Advertisements. Through this competition the students are encouraged to create an innovation framework that would help today’s enterprises to unlock its full potential. 

The competition was held across the country with the regional rounds being held in Patna, Chennai, Udaipur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Ranchi, Visakhapatnam, Dehradun, Meerut, Lucknow & Greater Noida.

Twenty Two teams, who were the winners of regional rounds, competed  for the Grand Finale.

The Greater Noida Regional Round was followed by the Grand Finale, with the Winning Team getting a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a Trophy, with the First Runner’s up & Second Runner’s Up getting Rs 15,000 & Rs 10,000 respectively. All winners were given exclusive Gift Hampers.

Speaking on the occasion, the Guest of Honor, Mr. Pankaj Gupta, Additional General Manager, Sales, Inalsa said, “Young people in India need to move on from the world of probability to the world of possibility and adopt designer thinking on the basis of innovation, creativity, parallel thinking and entrepreneurship”.

Handing over the winner’s trophies to the students, Chief GuestMr Rajeev SahdevVicePresidentHuman ResourcesMoser Baer, extolled the students to, “balance ambition with the virtue of humility as has been done by the great leaders of the world like Warren Buffet and Narayan Murthy. One should guard against over ambition  and greed. Greed will always lead to scams and affect a nation’s progress. “

Ms Vandana Puri, Deputy Director - CMD, AIMA, said,” The competition is aimed to encourage competitiveness  amongst students of business schools on one side and recognize excellence on the  other. The participation of over 500 teams participating reinforces the utility and diligence of this prestigious competition among the institutions in the country. 

This unique initiative of AIMA saw over 525 teams where students across various streams demonstrated their talent and evaluated their level of knowledge and skills. This would push them further to achieving professional excellence and leadership qualities.
